Let's Do Fingerplays
Published in Hardcover by Robert B. Luce (December, 1988)
Average review score:

A comprehensive and well organized fingerplay book .As a preschool teacher and public children's librarian for over ten years,I have to say that this is still my favorite fingerplay book. It contains a fingerplay for every occasion and theme. The fingerplays are also indexed by subject which makes using the book so easy. You are guaranteed to find some of your own childhood favorites and some new favorites to use with children of all ages. This book is well worth the money and it will be used for years to come. Fingerplays are a great way to introduce poetry, humor and many other elements of language development. It is also a fantastic way to get individuals in a group setting involved and have a feeling of success when they can remember the short verses and actions of the fingerplays. Not to mention the pride and delight of the parents and teachers. I highly recommend this book for every teacher or librarian who wants an excellent source for ideas to enhance the learning experince in any setting.

Lincoln's Doctor's Dog and Other Stories
Published in Hardcover by Thunder Baas Pr (01 May, 1982)
Average review score:

Howlingly funny & hauntingThis little book sticks in my mind three years after I read it. So I recently re-read it and found that it held up well. The tales here are bizarre, very poetic, and yet also howlingly funny. The author is a shameless punster and loves silly jokes and tricks played on the reader. The title story about a story about the dog owned by Lincoln's doctor takes so many wierd turns and ends up startlingly.

Little Town
Published in Paperback by 1stBooks Library (November, 2001)
Average review score:

A Great View of LifeLittle Town, written by Dan Grayson tells a great story. The narrator of the story tells of his life in a small town. The town's people are colorful, and the discriptions of events are rich. The reader will be quickly drawn into the story. I only wish the author could have included more events into the story.

Models for the Millennium: Great Basin Anthropology Today
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Utah Pr (Txt) (December, 1999)
Average review score:

A must haveIt is difficult to know where to begin. This book is a must have for any archaeologist who works in the Great Basin. However, It would be of benefit to anyone who works in North America. Beck put together a splendid volume that includes articles by many of the movers and shakers in Basin archaeology. The title describes the contents of the book, with a review of important archaeological questions and models that Basinists were dealing with in the past and how that leads up to what we are doing now. My copy is already well worn.

Porches & Other Outdoor Spaces: A Design Guide for Living Outdoors
Published in Paperback by Rockport Publishers (May, 2000)
Average review score:

Fulfilled my fantasies about porches"Porches and Other Outdoor Spaces" is a well-organized book filled with photos of many types of porches. The text is helpful and easy to read. The photos, with minimal captions, speak for themselves. The book provides many decorating ideas within the context of a porch's intended function. I will definitely go back to this book whenever I want relaxing visuals.

Real Estate Foreclosure: Paralegal Practice and Procedure (Paralegal Practice Library)
Published in Hardcover by Wiley Law (April, 1994)
Average review score:

Van Horn strikes gold!I must catch my breath before I begin... I am completely overwhelmed by this fine textbook. Did I say "fine"--oh, how limited our language is. What Van Horn and his partner in scholarship have here done for the legal community is beyond measure. I never before imagined that real estate foreclosure could be at one time so interesting and so utterly entertaining. I attribute both to the eloquent style of the authors, who weave one of the finest paralegal tapestries to be found in ink. Once I picked this book up, I could not put it down (and my arms became very tired after the 22nd hour). I toast you, Grayson Van Horn. You have bestowed upon the world a rare piece of writing. I would read absolutely anything (at least the cover page of absolutely anything) you wrote; and not just because I am your son.

Ten Landscapes: Stephen Stimson Associates
Published in Paperback by Rockport Publishers (February, 2002)
Average review score:

Amazing PhotographyThis book was incredible: helpful, cohesive, and stunningly written. However, the most attractive part of the collection has to be the photography. Each photo not only captures the spirit of the image shot, but captures the imagination as well. Mayer does a fabulous job of grasping the essence of Trulove's verbal images in his work. This book is a must-have, not only for the coffee table anthology, but as a feast for the eyes.
